dr jimbob 提供的答案（使用 make altinstall）让我成功安装了 python2.7 到 /usr/local/bin，但我还需要安装一些第三方模块。好消息是，easy_install 会根据你正在使用的 Python 版本来决定安装位置，不过我发现我还是需要为 Python 2.7 安装 easy_install，否则会出现 ImportError: No module named pkg_resources 的错误。所以我这样做了：
wget http://pypi.python.org/packages/2.7/s/setuptools/setuptools-0.6c11-py2.7.egg
sudo -i
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin
sh setuptools-0.6c11-py2.7.egg
exit
现在我在 /usr/local/bin 里有了 easy_install 和 easy_install-2.7，而且前者会覆盖我系统里 2.6 版本的 easy_install，所以我把它删掉了：
sudo rm /usr/local/bin/easy_install
现在我可以这样安装 Python 2.7 的库了：
sudo /usr/local/bin/easy_install-2.7 numpy
